Let’s Fool Bucks.
Not Hunters.
The scent-using consumer that knows what they are buying, gets what they are promised and has a successful scent-using experience, is a customer for life.
The mission of The Center For Scent Performance
Our Mission is to ensure the estrus-scent using customer has good experience in the field so that they will come back for more.
More hunting. More scent-use success. More scent purchasing. This ensures that everyone involved wins. The hunter has an enjoyable and successful hunt and the scent industry is recognized for providing products that perform and, in turn, sell more scent.
Peak Estrus Scent vs. Regular Estrus Scent
Today there is confusion among the hunting public at to what they are truly buying when they purchase an estrus scent.
Through the rut stages a Whitetail doe will cycle every 21 days if she isn’t bred. Urine collected during this entire 21 day cycle is generally considered “regular” estrus scent and will contain varying amounts of estrogen. For a short time during this 21-day cycle, a Whitetail doe will produce elevated levels of estrogen that are believed to reach over 30 pg/ml. During this short time the doe is said to be in standing or peak estrus and the urine collected during this short period is considered “peak estrus scent”. Peak estrus scent, because of the elevated estrogen levels, is very effective at attracting mature bucks and thus the desire to make the distinction.
How to Earn Our Seal of Certification
Peak Estrus scent that meets or exceeds 30 pg/ml will be Certified Peak Estrus and earn our seal of certification.
The Center for Scent Performance has the technology to quickly and easily measure the picograms per milliliter (pg/ml) of estrogen in any estrus scent urine product and will certify any scent at or over 30 pg/ml as “Certified Peak Estrus”.
Upon successful testing, a scent product will then be deemed Certified Peak Estrus and awarded the certification seal for display on the product label and use in corresponding marketing efforts.
Revolutionary Technology
There is exciting new technology that makes measuring estrogen levels in deer urine more viable.
The Center for Scent Performance uses an independent veterinary laboratory to verify that urine estrogen levels are greater than 30 pg/ml, the level consistent with levels found in does that mature bucks are especially attracted to. The lab uses what is called the Radioimmunoassay (RIA) test. The technology behind this test is revolutionary while administering the test is actually quite fast and extremely accurate. Again, the test measures the amount of estrogen in the deer urine which is measured in picograms per milliliter. If that level is at or above 30 pg/ml that scent is certified peak estrus. Estrus scent urine that measures below this level will not be certified as peak estrus scent.
